Filofax Collection – A5 Filos

I’ve really got back into Filofax organisers this year – despite the fact my main planner is an Erin Condren Life Planner.

I did sell quite a few on Facebook or Philofaxy, I’ve yet to try selling on eBay. But it’s safe to say my collection has actually increased rather than decreased.

I prefer the A5s and, since portability isn’t a concern for me, A5s definitely make up the majority of my collection. Since I don’t see myself buying any more A5s (unless it’s a caramel Finchley) I thought I’d share my A5 collection. These don’t include my Finchleys which will be the subject of a later post.IMG_0709As you can see, I’m a big fan of The Original.

From L to R I’ve Fluoro Orange, Fluoro Pink, Black, Fuchsia, Brown, Pillar Box Red, Nude, Navy, Dark Aqua, Yellow, Green and Purple. I think the only ones I don’t have are the new metallic colours and the monochrome. I love having a huge choice of colours to suit my mood.

Next to those are my Finsburys

I have the electric blue, grey, raspberry, black and I think the tangerine. I understand there’s also an orange which is a much deeper shade. Amazon indicates I have an aqua Finsbury due this month but I’m not holding my breath for that.

And finally rounding off my A5s I have purple and aqua Maldens and a brown Hamilton. I used to have a vintage pink and ochre Malden, but I’m not a big fan of the Malden so I sold them knowing others would love them more than I ever could. The Hamilton is one of my oldest Filos and the first one I bought when I had a proper job.

Okay so technically these aren’t all my A5s. I have some Dominos and Paperchase organisers which I use for archival and storage purposes. I also have a Malibu Daytimer from when I was playing around with inserts.

The tangerine Finsbury and fuchsia Original are currently in use but I do change colours often. The beauty of swapping to a binder from the same range is I don’t have to worry about the internal pockets and detail or contents not fitting in.

My non-A5s will also be a future post.

Notebook for the month – July 2014

One of my friends saw a photo of part of my notebook collection and challenged me to start using one a month. I’m not sure how I feel about changing each month. I don’t want to waste my notebooks but at the same time having notebooks sit in a cupboard unused is also a bit of a waste.

But the purpose of the challenge isn’t really about using a new notebook each month but simply a way of getting me to start using my notebooks.

I’m supposed to use my notebook for everything but I’ve only just set my planners up in a way I like so I don’t want to change that. I also love my Midori as my handbag notebook so I don’t really want to change that either.

I do tend to use a lot of post-its and scraps of paper when I’m making quick lists or on the phone or deciding on options so I can easily use a notebook instead. I’m also thinking of including some kind of index system so I can find important notes in the future, maybe an adaptation of the bullet journal, but I’ll have to work that out as I go along.

I’ve decided I’m going to choose from my everyday notebook collection, so none of the beauties below

The notebook I’ve chosen for July has been in my stash for a while since I bought it from Woolworths, which closed in 2009.

Inside is pretty simple but I do like the “heading” box on each page which could make my indexing easier.

I’ll post an update in August and perhaps a new notebook for that month.
